Anima started through a need for men’s clothes to be lightweight and free—from fabric to fit. Like in life, ‘who’ and ‘what’ we surround ourselves with is ‘who’ and ‘what’ we become. This is true of our clothes–what’ we wear we become. In other words, today's tight and heavy clothes make us tense, taught and restricted.
The etymology of anima (n.)
Anima originates from Latin. From the outside, anima describes ideas such as a current of air, wind, breath, the vital principle, and life. From the inside, anima describes the spirit or vital force or soul in man. The intellect, consciousness, intention, and courage.
